Can we stay in touch?

Soon, data protection laws in the UK will change. This means you need to tell us if you’d like to hear from Sobell House, even if you’re getting updates from us at the moment.

By ticking yes to allow us to keep in touch you can help us to provide care to people throughout our community.

Your tick today means that we can tell you about the difference your support makes in a way that you are comfortable with. It means that we can tell you about hospice events like our Lights of Love ceremony and how you can support the hospice in the future. And it means we can ask you for your help when we need it most.

FAQs Why do I need to tell you whether I want to hear from you?

Data protection law is changing in May 2018 and this means we need to check you’re happy with the way we communicate with you. We’re asking all our supporters to confirm how they’d like to hear from Sobell House Hospice in the future. If you don’t let us know you could miss out on hearing about some of the things happening at Sobell House Hospice, such as our Lights of Love remembrance event, or about the impact of your support.
By making this change and only contacting you in the way you choose, you will hear from us in the way that suits you best.

Why does a tick from me mean so much?

Because your support counts. The care we provide is only possible because of support from people like you. As a loyal supporter, we want you to know how much of a difference you are making to real people who live in your community. And as a loyal supporter, we want to be able to ask you for help when we need it. We need your permission to be able to do this.

Our promise to you

At Sobell House Hospice we treat our supporters with respect. As part of our commitment to ensuring that we are completely open and transparent about our fundraising and spending, we have developed a Fundraising Promise.

  • We will use your donation carefully and responsibly and ensure that administration costs are kept to a minimum.
  • We will provide updates about our work so you can see how you are making life better for those with a lifelimiting illness in the Oxford area.
  • We will communicate with you in a way that suits you. If you tell us you’d prefer less contact or don’t want to hear from us at all, we’ll respect your wishes.
  • We will never sell your details to other organisations or share them with other charities for marketing purposes.
  • We will ensure we adhere to all charity sector guidelines and regulations including the “Fundraising Code of Practice” and take appropriate action if we find any failure to meet these standards.
