How to receive urgent advice.

Urgent Advice

Between the hours of 9am – 4.30pm each day (including weekends and bank holidays) if you would like urgent advice about a patient please contact our Triage service on 0800 2761484 or 01865 857036. There is always a senior nurse on duty to take your call – if necessary, they can ask the Triage consultant to ring you back.

Alternatively, if you need to speak to a consultant directly, you may ring the consultants’ PAs on 01865 572125 or 01865 225862. If the patient is known to Sobell House it is more helpful to route your call through our Triage service because the patients’ notes can be obtained ahead of the telephone conversation.

For patients already known to our coummunity nurses you may prefer to liaise directly with them. You may leave a message for them through the Triage service numbers above. Please do state the level of urgency so that the message can be passed on in the most efficient way possible.

Outside of 9am – 4.30pm patients and families are asked to call 111 for medical advice. The 111 team can then access the specialist palliative care senior doctor if needed.
