There are a number of nursing teams across Sobell House. They are managed by Karolyn Baker, Deputy Matron and Sam Edwards, Lead Specialist Palliative Care nurse

The specialist ward is managed by a ward manager, supported by a deputy, practice development nurse and a number of specialist nurses, registered nurses and clinical support workers. The day service is staffed by specialist nurses, supported by a clinical support worker, administrator and arts and crafts co-ordinator. Both the community and hospital palliative care teams include advanced nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists. The lymphoedema service is run by an advanced nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialists.

All staff demonstrate the Oxford University Hospitals’s core values of Compassion, Excellence, Respect, Learning, Delivery, and Improvement.  They are passionate about providing their patients and families with the best care that they can, as well as supporting and teaching others to do so.

There is opportunity to develop within these teams as individuals become more skilled in specialist palliative care and opportunities to progress their career.
