The lymphoedema clinic is based in the Renal Unit at the Churchill Hospital on the same site as Sobell House, and is open from 9am to 5pm on weekdays. We offer assessment of primary and secondary lymphoedema.
The clinic treats over a 1,000 patients a year to help reduce symptoms. Following assessment, any treatment is primarily composed of one or more of the following:
- Careful skin care
- Compression with a containment garment or bandaging
- Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and
- Simple Lymphatic Drainage (SLD) – patients are taught how to do this at home
- Hydroven 12 pneumatic pressure pump
- Lymph taping
