The Sobell House inpatient unit was purpose built in 2003. We have 18 beds, nine of which are single rooms and the rest organised in three rooms with three beds in each. This gives us flexibility to provide a bed for you in the best place in relation to your condition and needs on arrival.

Our facilities

All single rooms have en suite facilities and the larger rooms have a shared bathroom. In addition, we have two large bathrooms fully equipped to be able to lift and manoeuvre those who are less mobile safely. These baths are also Jacuzzis so that patients can enjoy a good deep soak.

Each bed has a radio, TV and a telephone, for which a phone card can be purchased from ward staff. Arrangements can be made to use the internet so you can keep in touch with friends and family should you wish to or even work if you so require. You are welcome to use mobile phone but please note that signals for mobile phones vary between providers and we would ask that you consider other patients when using them.

Each room opens onto a small outside terrace for fresh air and views of the garden, which are lovingly tended by our volunteers. Beds will fit on the terrace if you would like to be outside.
