Bill studied medicine at Kings College London from 1954 and qualified in 1959. He gained a partnership in General Practice in Didcot in 1962 and worked there until retirement in 2000. Bill also has a Diploma in Sports Medicine and ran a clinic in Abingdon for 5 years.
He was Chairman of Oxfordshire Local Medical Committee for 7 years and worked with Area Health Authority and a medical adviser to Health Ombudsman for two years.
Bill is married to Ann and they had four children and have 13 grand-children.
During his retirement Bill became a Trustee of Sobell House Charity and was its Chairman for 10 years.
