Band 5 Staff Nurses: inpatient ward
We are seeking Registered Nurses with strong values, who are motivated, dynamic and organised, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. This role requires an enthusiastic, committed and professional approach to the smooth delivery of safe, high quality nursing care, ensuring the best patient experience. Candidates should be excellent team-players with the ability to use their own judgement to resolve issues. They should also have well developed communication skills and a sensitive approach to dealing with difficult and upsetting situations. They should be able to work well under pressure with a flexible approach to work, and a willingness to suggest ideas for improvements. Candidates will be able to demonstrate compassion, commitment and competence to deliver high standards of care within palliative care. This will be assessed through a technical and Values Based Interview.

There will be many opportunities for personal and professional development through collaboration with the Oncology, Haematology and Sobell House Practice Development team as well as the OUH Professional Development Team. Sobell House Hospice, based on the Churchill Hospital site are looking to recruit a part-time driver (20 hours per week, possible extension to 22 hours) to join their friendly and efficient transport team.
As part of the team of staff and volunteers you will drive the hospice vehicles, providing a safe and reliable transport service for patients and their carers using the services of Sobell House. Flexibility is essential.
Full training will be provided. Previous experience in a health care environment or community transport service is desirable.
Please note that the appointment of a successful candidate will only be confirmed upon completion and passing of driver training and assessment.
This post will have a fixed term contract of 2 years. There is the possibility of extending the post at the end of the term.
The salary for this position is within the banding of £15,251 - £17,978 Pro Rata.
