Ward Administrator Volunteers needed

We are urgently in need of two types of volunteer administrators to assist on our ward welcome desk.

These are hugely rewarding roles that will place you at the heart of the ward, volunteering as part of a close and supportive team.

Meet and Greet / General administration

To provide a welcoming and informed first point of contact at the Sobell House Ward.

Main Activities:

Ideally you will have:

Basic IT skills may be advantageous but not essential as use of computer systems is not required.

Experienced ward administrator

We are also interested to hear from volunteers with a background in administration. Ideally your experience will be in a health and social care environment but this is not essential.

This role incudes all of the tasks for the general administrator position plus additional duties working with ward admin staff.  These activities will depend on your skills and experience.

Full training for either role will be provided. We encourage applicants to come in to visit us, have a tour of the hospice, and meet the team at a convenient time.

Qualified Complementary Therapists - Volunteer Opportunities for CNHC registrants at Sobell House Hospice Charity

We are offering complementary therapy to our patients and their families. The hospice is now recruiting to expand its team of volunteer therapists to work with inpatients, outpatients and families. This department is developing its scope and reach and will be looking into new areas in which to practice. We are open to some new ideas as well as adding to the existing services, our therapists currently offer a variety of forms of therapy:

Requirements:

This is a great opportunity to join a lively forward looking team as well as the chance to gain valuable experience working with patients, families and staff and to support a vital charitable service.

Drivers - Volunteer opportunities for drivers at Sobell House Hospice Charity

Sobell House volunteer drivers transport patients in a safe, efficient and understanding way between their homes and Sobell House. They may also collect or deliver small items of equipment from/to a patient’s home.

Volunteer drivers undertake their role Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm. There is flexibility around how many runs a volunteer will undertake each week, dependent on volunteer availability and patient and volunteer location. We are looking to recruit volunteer drivers throughout the county.

Volunteer drivers must present a current and original driving licence, MOT certificate and insurance certificate that allows for the transportation of others as a volunteer.

This is a great opportunity to join a lively forward looking team as well as the chance to gain valuable experience working with patients, families and staff and to support a vital charitable service.
