Adopt us as your Company's Charity of the Year
Companies are often approached with requests for support from a range of charities and it is often difficult to know which one to choose. Due to this, some companies decide to adopt one local charity for a year and focus their efforts on supporting that charity. Sobell House Hospice Charity has an excellent reputation within the local community and is very much seen as providing vital local services.
Adopting a Charity of the Year is a great way to get all your staff working towards one objective, and the money you raise throughout the year can make a real difference.
We hope that your company will be interested in choosing us as your Charity of the Year. You will be allocated a dedicated fundraiser who will help and support your activities and your staff. We will suggest fundraising activities and events for you to get involved with and will build a good relationship with the fundraising representative/s in your company.
Throughout the year, Sobell House Hospice Charity organises various events which you can put your name to, helping us raise more money for the Hospice and generating publicity and positive brand awareness for your company.
By supporting one of our events you will be showing the local community of the benevolence of your company and gaining publicity both at the event, and beyond.

These donations not only form the foundation of our income and are critical to the work done here, but also clearly show your organisation’s commitment to our work and help us to continue to support so many people in the Oxfordshire area.
If you are making a donation on a personal, rather than business capacity, you can increase the value of your donation by 25% by opting to have your donation gift aided.
Donate Gifts in Kind
Due to the relevance of their business many companies prefer to donate gifts in kind rather than money to us. These gifts are greatly appreciated and help the Charity to raise funds for the Hospice.
An “In Kind” donation could be just about anything: raffle or auction prizes, assisting us with printing costs, use of a venue, services such as PR, consultancy and other advice.

Why not set up a Standing Order from your business to us and make a regular monthly donation? Again, it doesn’t matter how small the amount – every contribution helps.
Matched Giving is a joint donation by staff and the company; employees make an individual donation, either a percentage of their salary or a variable amount, and the company matches it, pound for pound.
You can match give in the following ways:
- single gifts – if an employee gives £20 to charity, so do you
- fundraising – match the money raised by staff from putting on events and collecting for charity
- volunteering time – you ‘pay’ your employees for the volunteering time with a donation to their charity
This motivates staff and builds team spirit, through uniting the company in pursuit of a worthy cause and corporate goals.
Display our Leaflets and Posters
From time to time, we need help in promoting our events or services, so we can spread our message to as wide an audience as possible. If you run a business which either has a large public area, reception, staff restaurant, or has a high footfall of people, your company could display leaflets and posters on our behalf.
Organise a stock donation scheme
Your company can organise company–wide collections of unwanted clothes, toys etc. The success of our retail outlets depends on a constant supply of good quality stock donated by the public.

Why not have one of our collection boxes on your reception or encourage customers or partners to sponsor your fundraising campaigns.
It is surprising how quickly small change builds up into pounds! We can arrange collection when the can is full.
Give as you Earn (GAYE)
GAYE enables your employees to donate a small amount of money to Sobell House Hospice Charity every month directly from their salary. Many people who donate in this way say they don’t even miss the money and the added bonus is that the Tax Man even contributes to their donation.
Once this is set up the employee doesn’t have to do anything else, they can donate as much or as little as they wish either every week, if they are paid weekly, or every month if they are paid monthly.
We are always looking for new volunteers to join our team to help out on both short-term projects and ongoing work. Charity volunteering can be a lot of fun and is a great way to make new friends. It could also help your employees learn new skills and gain valuable work experience.

- Data entry
- Assistance with car parking
- Selling entrance tickets at events
- Selling raffle tickets
